Admission Information
Goodall-Witcher Hospital will not deny any person needing emergency medical treatment on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, age, handicap or the source of payment for the care.
All patients should familiarize themselves with the terms of their insurance coverage. This will help you understand the hospital’s billing procedures and charges.
Financial Information
If you are a member of a managed care plan, your plan may have special requirements, such as an order from your Primary Care Physician, a restriction on services received “out of network” or a pre-certification for certain tests or procedures. It is your responsibility to make sure the requirements of your plan have been followed. You may be financially responsible for all or part of the services rendered in the hospital. Some physician specialists may not participate in your health care plan and their services may not be covered.
We will need a copy of your identification card. Depending on the extent of your coverage and deductible requirements, you may be asked to pay a deposit. You will be asked to assign benefits from the insurance company directly to the hospital.
If you are covered by Medicare, we will need a copy of your Medicare card to verify eligibility and process your Medicare claim. You should be aware that the Medicare program specifically excludes payment for certain items and services, such as cosmetic surgery, dental and some oral surgery procedures, routine foot care and services not medically necessary, personal comfort items, hearing evaluations and others. Deductibles and co-payments are the responsibility of the patient.
If you are covered by Medicaid, we will need a copy of your Medicaid card. Medicaid also has payment limitation on a number of services and items.
If you do not have insurance, a representative from the Business Office will discuss financial arrangements with you. Also we accept the following credit cards: Discover, MasterCard, and VISA.
Your hospital bill reflects all of the Goodall-Witcher Hospital services you receive during your stay. The basic daily rate includes your room, meals, nursing care and housekeeping. Separate charges are made for medications and tests that are ordered by your physician (such as, but not limited to X-rays and laboratory).
A separate bill may be sent to you from physicians you did not see in person. These bills are for professional services provided by these doctors in diagnosing and interpreting tests you had while you were a patient. These specialist physicians may include pathologists, cardiologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and ER physicians. These specialists are required to submit a separate bill. If you have questions about these bills, please call the number printed on the statement you received from them.
Charity Care
A patient’s eligibility for charity care will be determined according to Goodall-Witcher Hospital’s charity care policy. To apply for charity care, please ask to see a representative from the Business Office.
